Locked Out

MY WIFE DECIDED TO TAKE A NAP IN THE COACH SHE WASN'TFEELING TOO GREAT. WELL SHE LOCKED THE DOOR AND CALLED AND SHE IS HAVING A BOUT WITH VERTIGO AND CANT MAKE IT TO THE DOOR. SHE HAS BOTH SET OF KEYS INSIDE AND THE ONLY WAY I CAN SEE TH GET THE DOOR OPEN WOULD BE PULLING THE 3 OUTSIDE HINGE PINS.IS THERE A TRICK TO GETTING THEM OUT?. I LIVE 50 MILES TO THE NEAREST TOWN AND A LOCK SMITH IS OUT OF THE QUESTION. ANY CLUES ON GETTING PINS OUT WOULD BE HELPFUL.THANKS

Welcome to iRV2. Please disable your CAPSLOCK.

First, is your wife okay? If there's the slightest doubt about her health, call 911 now and let the first responders deal with the door. Her safety is more important.

If she can phone you, can she operate one of the coach windows and toss out a set of keys?

Are you near or with other RVers? Most RV door locks have a limited number (7, IIRC) of cut combinations so someone near your may have a key that works.

That said, a locksmith will be cheaper than repairing any damage you do while attempting to remove the coach door. Do you have AAA or other roadside assistance plan that covers lock outs?

Can you take a picture of your coach and post it here? Since this is your first post, we have no idea what coach model you have.

I keep a slim jim in my rear right compartment (don't need to lock that one) It's fairly easy to slip it in between my sliding windows and push the window latch up and then (with a ladder or standing on the side of a pickup truck box) can crawl in.
