Loud noise from rear of coach

I have a 2006 Intrigue 530 with a Cat c-13 motor and 6 speed Allison. I hear a loud whirring sound which comes an goes at highway speeds. Almost sounds like a pump starting up for 10-15 sec and then goes away and comes back after several minutes.

Has anyone heard this similar noise and figured out what it is? The only thing I can equate to is maybe the fan at the radiator engaging and disengaging. But I think its direct drive from the PTO.

Sounds like the radiator cooling fan is cycling to the high speed mode as heat builds up, if that is indeed the case that is exactly how it supposed to function. Can you see the engine temperature cool down on the Silverleaf when you here the noise?

If rear radiator the fan has a clutch in it and will engage and disengage. If a side radiator it is the fan turning off and on as needed.

As stated do you have the Silverleaf. I can hear my fan come on and can see it in the Silverleaf but the stock dash gauges never move, they read high to start with. My fan come on at 204degs and turns off at 194degs and the trans temp will move also with the coolant temp.

Yes I have the Silverleaf monitoring system and the temp only changes by 2-3 degrees....not enough to indicate the hyd fan is in operation. At first I thought it was the trans converter similar to a car but I'm not sure now.
Going to have to monitor the Silverleaf a little closer the next time I go out. It seems logical it would be the hydraulic pump. I will review the hydraulic system to see if it has a two stage valve....but only guessing now. THANKS
