My first rv 1995 CCC

Hi all, I'm new to the forum I just bought my first rv and it a 95 CC concept and so far I just love it. I have been reading all the books trying to get to know her, she has 165k miles on her and has the detroit 8V92T engine and when driving her home 250 miles I found she is no dog! So far my only concern is I think she may be running a little warm. It was in the 30s when driving her home and the engine temp ran around 195deg going over 200deg once. The previous owner told me that's where it is supposed to run due to the ddec111. He said it was detroits attempt to lower emissions ,but I have found nothing to support that. Even the books that came with it say 165 to195 deg but the books seem like they are more general cause it mentions the 6V92 quit a bit. I plan on figuring it out before I hit the open road. Any insight on this would be welcome!

Welcome to the Forums.

We have rig from same vintage, but no knowledge of the Detroit engine world.

You will probably be educating us.

195-200 is not out of line for engine temp. Take a look at the thermostat and you will see it is a 195. Cooler is not always better

Nice coach! Many of the systems will probably be the same as on ours. Make sure you inspect the hydraulic hoses powering the fans and power steering.

nice place to start........ and end. great high end coach. as was said above, that's not out of line for a 8v 92. the only thing is when climbing hills keep it wound up. that's what it take to keep em cool, no lugging. again congrats, great coach!
