Need a Step Motor

We have a 1996 Country Coach Intrique motorhome and the motor on the Series 42 Kwikee Electric Step has gone bad. Does anyone know where we can buy a new motor for this old Series 42 Kwikee Step?

I not sure where you can find a new motor. I have a 1995 Newmar that had steps that had been bent so I bought new steps (ouch) Mine are Series 40 but motor I think is the same.
I'll sell motor and all linkage for $50.00 and you pay shipping. If your interested research to see if motor is compatible. I tested Control box and motor and all works fine

Broke the casting on my steps and the only repair was that I bought a complete kit with new motor and gear drive.
sure works great and went on my warranty so I do not know what the cost was.

Not sure where you are located, but we bought a control unit at PPL in Houston. Also, Kwikee is still in business and on the internet.

My 2002 Kwikee step took a Ford Taurus drivers side window motor. Google Kwikee step motor replacement and there will be several posts with the motor number available at any parts store in the $40. range.

First things first. The steps are down where it gets rusty, dusty and dirty. Check to make sure you have a clean solid ground. Then check same for12 volt lead.

Mine failed a few years ago so I removed the old one and went to our local RV dealer and matched it up perfectly.

Just in case - Don't buy a new one just yet as these 12v motors have brushes - brushes wear out. Yours like mine is around 20 yrs old - see my very recent post about these Kwikee 42 steps and probs. They are similar sized to power tool motor brushes and a tool shop could check and replace them if they are the prob. One from a wrecker could last but they are probably well used and have an unknown future.
