Need Inverter (best brand?)

I called Freedom today about my Freedom 20-12D combination inverter/ charger. I was informed that parts are no longer availiable for this 2000 year model and that I will need to replace it with a newer model. Are there better manufactures to choose from. This is in a 2000 CC Allure.

Anyone know of a company that may still have parts and could rebuild this unit?

Magnum Energy. Sturdily built inverters, great tech support, good warranty. Good selection of both MSW and PSW inverter/chargers.

The Magnum 2800W PSW seems to be the one of choice for replacing the Freedom's in CC's. If you have the Link 2000 controller, the Magnum controller fits the same hole and uses the same 4 conductor telephone cable (but with reversed connections). When my time comes, that's what I'm going with.

Or, I might try the Magnum MSH3012M hybrid inverter.

If you decide on the Magnum, which I would also recommend, you might want to take a look at iMarine USA - Search Good pricing with free shipping.

I bought a magnum 3012 to replace the xantrex 3000 but have not installed since im waiting for silverleaf to catch up with the technology. The hybrid seems to be a good idea and with there controllers would be a good option. I bought from I marine and received quickly with best pricing.

Maybe gone already, but an Escapee member had a For Sale on a new in box MS2812, plus other optional component, inverter/charger for a pretty good price. That is a Pure Sine Wave, and is exactly the model I have upgraded to in our Allure. Works very well as an inverter, and has charging logic that is supportive of two different formats of AGM charging. (Lifeline, and another setting for other AGM's.)

That being said. If you feel you might want to get into heavy solar panels, then check the Magnum site for their newer Hybrid Inverter. I will allow use power from Solar Panel systems, and then augment it off of the battery bank, if needed.

Happy hunting!!

Brand New Magnum PSW Inverter Package - RV Accessories for Sale - Escapees Discussion Forum

Might want to compare the costs of all the components plus inverter that you can find online, to what he is asking for this package.

He is overpriced by about $400. At iMarine the inverter is $1404, the BMK is $136, and the RC50 is $141. Plus iMarine has free shipping

Hey Don - Missed this post!!

I pulled my receipts, and you are right that I had better prices! I did a package deal on the Magnum, BMK, and a few other components, along with the MidNite Solar Classic 150 controller, an remote panel, and some other components related to the solar installation (not the panels). This was from Northern Arizona Wind & Solar. This was 2 + years ago, and at that time it was the best combined price on components I could find.

I know this Escapee member sold the components, do not know the price. And of course, no sales tax wish could add up a bit in some areas!

Best,
Smitty
