As to the lusting for a Newell, I wasn't aware they made anything shorter than 45'. We looked in one (used) at Tom Johnson's when we were there last year and it was just a bit too fu fu for our tastes. Guess that is why the more conservatively-decorated Allure really tripped our switch. That said, I'd love to take a Newell for a test drive.

Well, OK, but perhaps an adult beverage, or a few, when our paths cross!!

The Newell is a well built and usually a mechanically solid coach.

As they are usually made per a customers specifications on interior design, that reflects the customers. And yes, as I think you may recall, I've posted on this board and a few others, that I'm not into 'glitz' - and that was one of the reasons we were drawn to our Allure. I have seen a Newell in Paso Robles, an older non slide unit. All white on the outside. The owner invited me inside, and it was an interior design that I felt was very understated, and well - simple. Nice. As I recall, his was a 42' coach(?). Memory could be off on that, as it was 4-5 years ago when I met the man.

And while I would like to see how Newells are built with a factory visit. I admit that if we were to move up, it would most likely be with a two slide 40' Prevost Based XL model. I like Marathon so far. Could it happen? Well, it's always nice to do 'What if?'. We have the complication, and grateful to have this, of my MIL that requires are assistance for financial living. So for now, we're retaining our two homes in San Diego. One she lives in. The other is next door on a corner lot, and was built on spec for an investment. Rented out the lower home, and on the side street we built a second three car garage, with a one bedroom unit above. My daughter lives their for now, but she's doing so as she saves up for a down payment. When MIL no longer needs our house to live in, we'll decide which of the two homes to sell. (Wife loves her current kitchen, and garden, but I built this house now 28 years ago, and due to budget restraints of that time, without as nice of windows and other equipment. So, I always thought we'd sell this house. Move in upstairs in the 1 br place, nice view of the ocean and sunset, keep my 3 car garage, and a place to park our RV. Keep renting out the downstairs house, very well separated so good privacy for anyone living in it.) Take the proceeds from which ever home we sale, and then take a solid look at if we want to move up.... Or not!

Best to you, and all,
Smitty
