No AC power in coach!

We have a 1989 Country Coach, and everything works fine on the generator, but not when hooked up to AC on dock line. It is a 360 SALS with a full basement. We have looked everywhere for the box to reset or replace but cannot find it. We have already reset all in the box in the hallway. Thanks!

Does your coach have a TRANSFER SWITCH, (either "manual" or "automatic").
If it does I suspect the switch has failed.

BTW the inverter/chargers on some coaches have a built in ATS, (automatic transfer switch).
However on some coaches the transfer switch is an individual/separate device, (either automatic or manual).
While on other coaches... (especially on early coaches)... to get 120V power into the coach the shore power cord must be EITHER:
1.) Plugged into an on-board generator receptacle
OR
2.) Plugged into a shore power receptacle.

Welcome to the gang! And good luck sorting this out. Do check out Mel's suggestion. Could very easily be the manual plug moving in that era coach. It was for our 98 Bounder!

Please let us know what you find out, as it could help others in the future.

Best,
Smitty

I would get your voltmeter out and start verifying power from your shore cord, transfer switch, surge protector and then to your inverter. Also the inverter probably has a breaker in your panel. Make sure that it isn't turned off.

Question Not figured out yet.

We have a lot of what it isn't figured out so far. It is a 6345 box and no breakers are off. We can get full power by plugging on the off side, but are worried about safety. On the generator everything works fine. There is just something wrong in the shore line.....maybe something wrong, but my husband has taken that apart and replaced the shore line in case that was a problem.

Shore power typically runs from the shore receptacle through the cord, to a Transfer Switch and then on to the electrical panel, inverter/battery charger.

The transfer switch is biased to feed power from the Generator when there is no shore power.

If the automatic transfer switch is stuck, you will get power only from the Generator.

Our CC has the Automatic Transfer Switch in a black box in an electrical bay accessed from the basement compartment behind the front axle.

Disconnect the shore power. Open the Transfer Switch. Clean the terminal contacts inside with sandpaper or file. Then try plugging in again.

Smile Shore power re-established!

After 3 days of searching and going around in circles....it is under the bathroom closet or pull drawers on closet side and behind the panel! Not sorry it led us in circles as we are replacing some seriously damaged wiring anyway! Thank you to all of you who offered suggestions. Some of them were what we had already done, but confirmed we were on the right path!
