You probably have a power management system like we do. If there's anything wrong with the incoming power it won't let anything in.
High voltage, low voltage, bad ground, reversed polarity etc and no power comes in.

Did it ever work since you bought it?

Does it work OK if you are running on the generator?

Is there power at the pedestal and is the breaker turned on?

Yes it did work when i picked it up. I plug the shore pwr plug in and it shorted. There was two wires off inside the plug. It does work with the generator. Not sure where the breaker is for shore pwr.

I have to assume your plug that had two wires off has created a problem or they are not sending power to your coach.
The 50 amp plugs are normally a molded plug so I'm a bit confused about the male power plug you are connecting to the pedestal.
Are you plugging into a campground 50 amp pedestal or or you just plugging into a 110 volt outlet at home?

Is the 30amp outlet at your house wired for an RV, is it 30amp 110 volt? If it is simply a 30 amp outlet for a clothes dryer, that would be wired for 220 volts and you may have blown something in the coach circuit.

220 volt 30 amp outlets for clothes dryers, welders, etc. are not wired correctly for 30 amp RV plugs.

Lets hope that's not the case but it sure could be. Would have been nice to know that he was trying to use a plug at home sooner!
Some years ago I wired in a 30 amp plug at home. It worked fine with the RV's we had at the time. Then I had a better inverter installed and couldn't get power. Turned out I had a wire reversed in the 30 amp plug and the inverter didn't like it. Switch the wires and have used it for 20 years now.

Yes it is a 220 30amp plug. Should I just plug it in to a 110 outlet? I have a code saying no power available I think I blew surge protector.

No shore pwr to coach

You may be lucky and have a better surge protector that shut down because of the 220vac. 30amp RV outlets are wired for 120vac not 220.

If your surge protector did it's job, it may be toast or many of the 120vac device in your RV are fried.

Let's hope for the best.

You should never just plug into an unknown outlet without testing first. Click image for larger version

Oh boy
Hope you didn't fry anything. RV's don't use a 30 amp 240 volt socket.
