Oil pressure OK at only 28?

Sad to say but I have paid little attention to my oil pressure until today. It reads about 28, which seems way too low. Do I have a problem or is this normal for a diesel engine like the ISC 350? The coach runs great and I have not seen any oil leaks. I suspect this is just another stupid question but I am on a long trip (10months/15k miles) and I want to head off problems before their cause too big an issue.

Thanks in advance for educating me.

BTW I am loving the drive and ride of the CC--great chassis.

According to my Cummins manual the MINIMUM is 10 psi at low idle and 30 psi when in use. This is on our 2002 ISC 350.

Newer engines may be higher but I don't have a manual for them.

Like all vehicles that I have owned our Country Coach oil pressure varies by situation. The oil pressure is much higher when the oil is cold / cool from a fresh start up. Our C12 normally runs in the 30's when driving. I only look at the Silverleaf computer. I rarely look at the gauge. I cannot positively say for your motor but I think ours would stop running if the oil pressure got too low. I think the diesel generators do too. You might call one of the very knowledgeable people in Oregon to get better answers, Kevin Waite, The CC facotry, or OMC, or your regular shop.

Well, I'd be inclined to check with Cummins as my manual is for a 2002 and the specs may have changed since you have a 2004 engine!

I will do that. Now that I have been monitoring a bit more it does start out in the 55 range but drops to around 28 when warmed up.
