Original shock brand

I have a 1997 Country Coach Affinity with Koni shocks. Are these the original shocks that came with the coach? I have about 40,000 miles on the coach and it does sway when making turns. It rides nice down the road, but sways a little in cross winds. Would this be an indication to replace the shocks? What would be the correct part number for this coach with the Gillig chassis. I have part number 90-1908 for the fronts and 88-051020 for the rears. Is these the correct part numbers?

Thank you in advance for all your help crew.

I have no clue on your coach.

My rig has the original Koni adjustable shocks at 100,000 miles on the front.

Shocks are designed to cushion shock to the spring system and limit the upward rebound effect after the shock.

Unless your rig is bouncing several times after hitting a bump, or the shocks are leaking, yours are probably ok.

First take a look at the mounting bolts on the shocks. If there is a dab of white or yellow over the nut they are original equipment. Look at the shocks and check for any signs of leakage from the seals. Also look at the rubber bushings in the mounts, if they are cracked the shocks should probably be replaced. I replaced mine of a coach with 67k on it and noticed an immediate improvement in handling. You might want to consider "Road King" shocks. They have a lifetime warranty and provide a great ride. Down side is they are expensive. You will get a lot of opinions on this question but you have to look at how much driving you are going to do, how long you plan on keeping the coach, what kind of driving you are going to do (all freeway or a lot of twisty 2 lane). Based on the year and the mileage you should probably consider getting new shocks. Good luck and safe travels

after i bought my intrigue 4 years ago, it bounced and bottomed-out even at a small bump. i thought it was caused by bad shocks, so i put a pair of new koni on. well, the same thing. then i drove to an rv shop, they found out it was the front height valve. r/r the valve fixed the problem. fyi.

Mine are original and seem to be working OK.

Front: Koni 1458SP1

Rear: Koni 1457SP1

The above numbers are stamped on the shocks
