Outside storage bay lights
The lights in the storage bays of my Allure have switches on the lights themselves. However, there is a switch of some sort at the bay opening that is obviously compressed by the bay door when closed. Are these switches for the lights or are they related to the electric door locks or the alarm?
I guess I am surprised that a coach with so many features does not have storage bay lights that come on when you open the door.

Put a grandkid in the storage bay and close the door to see if the light goes out. If it doesn't next thing set the alarm and open the door and see if it goes off. Don't forget to take the kid out of the storage bay.

The door switch turns the lights off. The switch on the light allows the light to be turned off when the door is open and light is not needed, say in the daytime. If this light is left to turn on at all times the life of the bulb can be reduced, plus you will be wasting electricity. I realize the electricity used is not much, but every watt adds up.

Update: Checked all my bay lights this evening and if I turn them on, none of them go off when I compress the switch at the door edge. Apparently, my coach is not wired that way or something is amiss.
Not a problem to turn the lights on as I need them but having them come on when I open a compartment door is a convenience I will miss.

Next guess would be alarm. Try arming alarm with the door open, as a test, if the alarm won't arm then it's part of the alarm. . or power locks , cycle the locks with the door open and see if they re-cycle when the door is closed.
