Overweight drive axle.

Looking through my owners box and found a weigh form from Josam's it shows the rear axle as above it's 20,000# legal rating and the tag below. Hopefully I can get it evened out when at HWH next month.
The passenger side was also heavier by over 1,000#'s. Kind of figured that due to the batteries all being on that side.

What are the weights side to side across the length of the MH?

Our coach is within 20 lbs side to side but the drive is 1000 lbs heavy on the drivers side and the tag is 990 lbs heavy on the passenger side. Got to find a suspension artist who understands the ride height. I think we should be able to even things out with minor adjustments to the ride height and still be within specs. Biggest issue is finding a set of scales to use.

Mr D,

I seriously doubt you have to worry about the drive axle weight rating. Just make sure you adjust your tire pressures according to the weight

On my 45 front is 17500, rear 26450,tag 10800. Motorhome axle limits are 24000 per axle so i am over but if i increase the tag it will add more load to the front end.

I'm not worried about it as the drive axle is rated for 20,000 but the model numbers show it's a 25,000# unit. Just that more weight should be on the tag.

Federal bridge weight limits are:
Quote:
Jun 20, 2018 · In addition to Bridge Formula weight limits, Federal law states that single axles are limited to 20,000 pounds, and axles spaced more than 40 inches and not more than 96 inches apart (tandem axles) are limited to 34,000 pounds.
However the do allow busses and motorhomes to go over that. As I remember it's 24,000 on the drive.

Now what bothers me is that I misplaced the form and didn't take a picture of it. I've been through the box three times file by file and piece by piece and can't find it. Guess it really doesn't matter because I'm sure I'm loaded differently than when it wss weighed.

Hello Mr. D,

Below are the weights on my axles before and after HWH Active Air was installed. These weights were taken at the CAT scale just outside of HWH facility.

Front 18,180 before AA Front 18,400 after AA

Drive 21,560 before AA Drive 21,400 after AA

Tag 10,680 before AA Tag 10,860 after AA

The folks at HWH tried to play with the weights and were very concerned about the drive being over "label spec" in the coach but when they found the actual axle label and discovered it was good for 25,000lbs they worried less. The side to side weight is also off from being perfectly balanced and there is not much they can do to shift it but play with bag pressure. The air pressure in my bags are: LF 92, RF 92, LDrive 59, RDrive 75, Ltag 68, Rtag 95. The folks at HWH will provide you this. It is important to have in case the AA system fails you will be able manually to fill the bags and drive. They install a central set of filling connections which you can fill with a compressor.

HWH does have 6 scales which you drive onto, they use these scales for their calculations but since they are not certified they cannot allow you to leave without comparing the old to new back at the CAT scales.

Thanks Curtis for your input. Mine is at Coburg getting the new head. Left it yesterday and they want 3 weeks.
My rear axle is like yours, 25,000 axle but CC lowered it to 20,000 due to Federal Bridge weight limits at the time.
Front rating is 20,000#'s
Drive is 25,000 derated to 20,000
Tag rating is 14,000

I finally found the weight paper. Of course there is no info on how it's loaded so not much help. Anyway here is a picture. Passenger side shows as 2,250#'s heavier
