PAC Brake not activating

My exhaust brake was working fine now after sitting in storage it is not activating the downShift. If I energize the solenoid with 12v the air cylinder will close the exaust butterfly but when driving and I take my foot off the throttle, nothing. No downshift & no brake activation. Any ideas.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be the electronic throttle control at the pedal. If you have Silverleaf look at throttle setting when you expect the brake to activate, if its not reading 0 then the brake will not activate and suspect its the control unit. I changed mine and problem solved, but my engine is a Cummins.

Mine just started doing that on a trip to Ruidoso NM. I found though that if I tap the brake pedal even slightly it works every time. I'll get the silver leaf ordered when I get home.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I don't think mine is working either.

I'm a noob to this. I have had the coach for about nine months now, and have made several local trips around Arizona. While the Allison is downshifting, I really don't think the exhaust brake is doing anything. Especially since the indicator light stopped illuminating shortly after the purchase.

How much of a deceleration feel should there be? Is the idiot light triggered by a switch on the PacBrake?

If the engine brake light is not illuminating on the dash then I suspect its not activating. The previous post referred to tapping the throttle pedal which probably points to the switch for them.
Please review this thread:-
Accelerator Pedal wiring/ engine brake
And then investigate the Williams WCS-134143 replacement switch assembly, its plug and play.

I need to check and see if this is the same on my coach (CAT). That may be an easy fix.

another thing to remind - lube pacbrake linkages and cylinder periodically. i do annually for linkages and every couple years on inside of cylinder (need to disconnect the hose/fittings to drop the fluid in).

The documentation that came with my Pac Brake says no maintenance is required. I haven't touched it in over 4 years. Now that I said that watch it crap out on me while headed to California next week.
