Pismo Beach to Indio

We leaving Pismo Beach CA and heading over to Indio CA tomorrow, does anyone have some suggestions as to what route to take, we're planning on leaving around 10:00 am to avoid morning traffic.

Thanks

i would take 101s and i-10 east. those are all two or more lanes one direction highways.

a side note, 101s in that section has no rest stops. the only one right in the corner of 101s from north-south turning into east-west is closed (both sides). you would need to turn out if a need arises. roncon parkway could be one for a few hours.

(trying not to bash cal but with hefty rate added to fuel prices, no excuses for no rest areas on 101).

We live near Pismo and go that way a lot. So, go south on 101 til 126. Take that to I-5. South to I-210. Go east on 210 til I-15 go south to I-10. Go east to destination. Leave Pismo before 9:30 am to miss worst of traffic. Have fun.

Thanks Stretch, we're in Indio now but will definitely try going over 126 next time, we hit a bit of parking lot on 101 east of Ventura yesterday around 1:00pm.

We're leaving Indio on Friday morning and heading over to Anaheim, any suggestions what route to take?

Thanks
Graeme Arnott

I knew that parking lot was waiting for you on 101. That's why I said 126. Return to Anaheim is a tough one. 10 to 57 is as good as any. Leave after 9am. And be parked before 3pm. I hate LA/Orange County traffic. That's why I moved up to the Pismo area.

Thanks Stretch,

We'll definitely heed your advice. We're actually heading down to San Diego for 4 weeks but need to stop off in Anaheim to watch our Vancouver Canucks play the Ducks, don't really know why we're going as the Canucks are working on a 9 game losing streak, then e'll hopefully in take in a NBA game while in LA area before heading to SD.

Thanks again.
