Update - Lucky for us we have this forum and a groovy uncle who handy with washing machines of all kinds and wa-laa. Color catcher caught in the vent, removed and all is well!

You shouldn't need to do that procedure with the 2000 model. That model comes with a lint screen in the back. The 2100 model doesn't have a lint screen. It has a self cleaning system.

My 2000s model does not have a lint filter!
