Purchasing a 2007 Magna 630 (ISX 600)

Hello all,
We will be picking up our coach this week and although I think I've had everything properly checked out, including a full pre-purchase inspection, I thought I would reach out to see if there is anything that I'm missing.
45k miles
-None of the tires are older than 2013 (Michelins on steering and Goodyear on drive and tag)
-House and engine batteries were replaced within the last year
-It has the wet PTO
-Does not have the aluminum radiator
-Engine and generator have been serviced
-Aqua Hot have been serviced
-All slides have been serviced
-All ACs have been checked out
-Roof is good as well as caulking
-Silverleaf was recently serviced and reprogrammed
-Transmission and radiator to be serviced this week
Anything else I should have checked out?
Many thanks!
Rick

I would assume you have turned everything on in the coach to see if everything operates OK. Oil analysis on the engine may not be a bad idea. Where did you get your Magna? Do tell!

Yep, everything has been turned on, it all checked out. Oil analysis was performed a couple of years ago and it was fine. Getting the Magna from a private party.

Lot can happen in a couple years. Assume you know the folks you are purchasing the coach from and trust the analysis.

A oil analysis can't tell you squat. Put fresh oil in and then have someone run an analysis and it will come up perfect. You need a history of analysis to look at trends

Another user just had a dropped valve on a new to them unit within month of pickup...

It was 650 so different engine.

Get engine serial and check with engine manufacturer for history or recalls.

Aslo google the engine just to see "whats out there"...

Consider service plan.

You should love the coach.

The ISX series share a lot of parts. There have been some issues with the 650 version dropping valves. Cumins has new parts to solve the issue, but expensive if you wait until it breaks to have it fixed. Something in the original 650 version head seems to be the cause.

This fellow had one go south under 50K

This fellow was mentioned above but no link to him. He picked up a 09 Magna with the ISX650. Just a few thousand miles later it was hosed. He had the oil analysis done and the dealer told him it came back OK except for some moisture from sitting. What they did not tell him was there was a high iron content in that oil.

More on his story here

Just be certain you get a history on the oil with any ISX and keep an eye on it. Mr D is out $30K, so far.

Thanks Gents, appreciate the info. I will definitely take a deeper dive on the ISX 600 engine. This coach has the RTI remote control system. Anyone familiar with it? Looks as though the main controller (model T3V) is dead and will need to be replaced.

The ISX 600's don't seem to have the problems with the valves breaking that the 650's do. Possibly just the extra heat that the extra fuel the 650 takes to make that last 50 hp is it. No real idea, but it certainly is expensive!
They're supposed to have the engine back together and on the dyno today for testing and break in. Hopefully home by Wednesday as they still have to put the closet and floor back together after the dyno run.
