Rear bedroom fan
The rear bedroom has a fan built into the overhead cabinets, it is wired into the chassis power so it can only be used white the engine is running. Has anyone switched the wiring over to the house batteries so the fan could be used while parked.
Anyone know the purpose of wiring this fan to the chassis?

Many coaches had an optional heater in the rear to warm the back end of the coach while traveling.
Is the fan control switch for this fan , on the dash , or in the bedroom ?

I have a similar panel, but the low, med high, is only for a fan that is above the "headboard" of the bed... WAIT A MINUTE, maybe it's wired to the engine because it has a heater element coming from the engine, like the front dash. That would make sense why a fan would need to have the engine running.
I will investigate if it is more than just a fan!
Thanks for the help.

Your Magna has an air conditioner evaporator in the box. This runs off the chassis A/C compressor. That is why it only runs when engine is running and the dash A/C is turned on.

Our '00 Dutch Star DP had the bedroom heater as standard equip., the '02 DSDP didn't and it wasn't an option on that floor plan
Some also have an OTR air con. Our rig doesn't need the heat in the bedroom with the ISX under the floor, but, I'm sure it needs the air con in hot areas!

I suspect you have the engine driven rear AC Over the Road system as several of us do. I think it was standard on the Magna and Affinity models.
The rear AC will only cool with the bedroom fan on and the dash AC activated.
The fan will run independently, but off the chassis battery as you observed.
On my rig, the evaporator and the secondary dryer for the rear AC is accessed by removing the left inside panel of the over-bed bin on the driver side.
The evaporator for the dash AC is under the dash passenger side and its dryer is in the engine compartment.
If, the rear AC does not provide cold air, that line might be plugged or the dryer and valve need replacing.

Yep, your right! There is a unit up in the cabinet with a bunch of hoses. I am not certain if it is heat or cooling but I will certainly try it out next rvroadtrip. Thanks.

If it has a dryer, it is AC.
I have not heard of a secondary heater being up there.
It would need a gas line or high current AC electric to be a Heater and the fan then would not be an engine battery driven fan.

If it was a heater it could also run off the engine coolant loop, that's the way the one in our 2000 DSDP 3865 was.
