Removing headlight bulb

This is a question I hate asking, however, I’m afraid if I make assumptions on this old coach I might break something plastic. I would like to replace the existing headlights with LED bulbs as my lights are pitifully dim.

I have taken a picture of the light from behind and am hoping somebody knows exactly how to remove the bulb.

I don’t want to go twisting or pulling on tabs until I am certain of what needs to be done. I can only imagine the condition of these plastics after 21 years.

Thanks

Create a signature listing at least year and model of coach, 21 years covers a lot of coaches.

Rotate that gray body counter clockwise . The bulb has a metal flange that is held by the gray body. The gray body will slide back on the wires ,the blue fingers lock the plug onto the bulb. Pulling on the bulb while holding the plug will release it. There will be a notch on the flange to orient the bulb.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try next time I make it out there.

Before you go changing anything you need to first measure the voltage on the back side of the bulbs. Many RVs have low voltage on the light bulbs for a number of reasons. One acquaintance had about 10.5 volts on one side and 11 volts on the other side instead of the 13-13.5 that you would expect... A relay kit brought his bulbs up to full brilliance.

Basically you have the existing wiring drive a relay coil (one relay for low beams and a second relay for high beams), and the relay contacts connect the bulbs directly to the chassis battery.

I will be sure to check the voltage when I’m out there. Thanks.

LED Headlights work better

After a lot of research i replaced the lamps with LED bulbs. There are probably 95/100 lamps that won't work properly. I ordered Eagle Diamond Vision bulbs and paid close attention to the angle you afix them. Big improvement.
