Removing propane tank
Installing a True Induction cooktop, cooktop is the only propane in the rig so the tank will no longer be needed.
Looks like one bracket in the rear with two bolts then a front bracket that appears to be bolted through into the wheel well. Plus of course the piping and wiring.
Anybody tried to remove the tank? If so what problems might I encounter?

The Newmars usually use a 40 gallon (32 usable tank) or at least that's what our '02 DSDP had and it can be dropped out the bottom of the bay.
I only have a 5.5 gallon tank and it's just above the fuel tank so it has to come out a small door. I just wondered if any CC owner had done it and could point me in the right direction. I took a few pictures but they are on my cell phone and my desktop PC refuses to recognize the phone. I'll see if I can post them directly from the phone.

If it is a 5.5 gallon tank, I wouldn't fool with it. If you are worried about fire, empty the tank

I know you've thought through the pluses and minuses of keeping or removing it for your situation, but if I was buying your coach in the future I would consider no propane tank a detractor. I like to use my onboard tank for outside grill, outside stove, and lantern. Just my .02.

I could use the extra storage space.

What's the safest way to drain the tank? It's about ¾ full so maybe 4 gallons of propane. Don't want to just light the burners and let them burn for several days, don't want to open the valve and let it go into the air and certainly don't want an explosion or fire either.

I've seen some U Haul places with flairs to burn of the gas.
The flair is 10 feet tall and uses lots of gas. We carried one on the Haz-Mat truck, when I was on the team.

i would go to a propane dealer to have them pump it out; or call your local propane distributor to see if they provide a free emptying service.

When a leaking shut off valve on my 35 gallon on board LP tank needed to be replaced the propane dealer connected my coach to a large burner out behind their shop and burned off the 10+ gallons that where in my tank.
