RV comfort thermostat

Has anyone come up with any idea why the thermostat seems to have brain farts occasionally. Some time you can not access a zone like zone 1 in which case the A/C just continues to run and you have to use the CB to turn it off. Other times the selected Zone reads 00 in which case the same problem exits pulling the fuse and resetting seems to cure the problem for a week or so. I added the trap which goes between the thermostat and the wiring harness but that has not stopped it. Any ideas?

I just went through this issue and then the thermostat quit working. Turned out to be a loose connection on the grounding bus bar. In my case this buss bar is located under the hood on the firewall of the coach. I found it using the checkbook method at Cummings Bridgeway. $300 in labor.

Keep searching. I had similar problems and found a part had to be replaced inside or behind the thermostat. My computer crashed so I no longer have any saved links.

Your issue is typical of a loose connection, bad t-stat board. I had a similar issue to yours and eventually replaced the complete t-stat with the new version. No more problems.

Good luck as it can be frustrating....

I had similar problems/issues with mine and finally just replaced it with the new style. No more problems. It was a long time ago but i think the cost was somewhere around the $200/250 range. Well worth it as now it just works...

Florescent lights in the ceiling have been know to give the t'stats fits, with electrical interference from bad ballasts , inducing voltage into the t'stat wiring between the roof A/C units.

Is your t'stat a four or five button unit ?
I'm not sure what year the change up us made.

I'm sure my issues was due to the florescent lights in the closet but the filter seemed to fix it.

My a/c units wouldn't work if the fluorescents were turned on. Changed them to led's and problem solved .
