RV Insurance

I'm working with FMCA to make a change in my insurance company. Anybody have experience with Safeco or National General? Thanks for feedback.

I just insured my '04 Magna with Hartford through AARP. Less than $500 a year.

I am now insured with Safeco. I was with Nat'l Interstate but they left the RV insurance business. Safeco's rate is the same as my old one with the same coverage. I have an independent agent who shops around for my insurance.

Safeco has been good for us. The premiums are competitive with others and the claims service was excellent.

I hit what looked like a tie rod which bounced up and hit the exhaust pipe from the Aqua Hot. The Aqua Hot was not field repairable so we needed complete replacement. Safeco covered it as road hazard damage. We paid only the deductible.

FWIW

You’re premium cost would be more helpful if you included coverage amounts.

What? Could you post your coverage's so we can compare?

My '02 cost is almost 3x what you say you are paying but then again, I am considered a full timer which does raise the rates

I used to have the Hartford for my car and they were very competitive but they don't do full timers on motorhomes.

I got 12 mpg. Once!

I have USAA bundled with the house, boat, camping trailer, and car. When we moved up to a DP I expected much higher rates.

On the other hand the car is a 2-seater convertible with no collision at a higher rate than the old beater it replaced.

Rates also depend on where the MH is registered. USAA deal with military officers and used to folks that move around a lot. Have coverage for 4 different locations.
