ScanGauge D

Jeez it seems I'm having nothing but problems with seemingly simple tasks lately. This time it involves installing the scangauge.

My problem is that I simply cannot find the connection which I understand to be under the dash and/or against the firewall. Anyone have a hint where it might be found on an 05 Inspire?

thanks in advance.

Yep. Take the cover off the pedestal next to the seat (under the shift pad). Inside you'll find a round gray plug with a cover you unscrew. That's it. At least that's where mine was hidden in my 05 Inspire. There's also a dark gray or black flat plug that's probably for Allison's use. I plugged mine in and my Silverleaf came to life. I just went through this.

By the way the cover I'm referring to is the large square one on the side. Pop the screw covers off and use a small Phillips. You'll need to turn the seat sideways.

Mine was just like Doug's. It doesn't jump out at you though, I had to pullout the coils of wire to find it.

thanks you guys. The irony is, I did pull that cover off, but didn't root around enough in there. I figured it probably wasn't there, so when it didn't just jump out at me, I put it back together.

Tomorrow I'll be more careful.

thanks again for the help. One of these days maybe I can return the favors I keep getting on this site.
