Slide Corner Molding

There is a piece of L shaped metal molding on the lower edge of the driver front slide. It's on the leading edge, so it slides in and out with the slide....or it used to. It got knocked off. When trying to reinstall, I'm finding I can't slide it through the slide hole. When properly installed, it extends through the seal, but I'm having trouble getting it in there. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Those are stainless steel angles and were originally attached with Sikaflex or some similar adhesive. I've had to reattach four of mine and I used Proflex sealant and pop rivets. If the angle is tight to the slide box, it should slide in and out of the seal. Maybe spray a little dry silicone on the seal at the corner and work the angle in the space, the attach to the slide.

thanks very much for the suggestion. If it EVER stops raining enough for me to get things attached, I'll give it a try. I have some dry slide stuff that might help.
