I need help resetting my monitor. I've deleted a tire position and I want to get it back. No help in the manual or when I call. Anyone experienced this?

I take it you were "rotating" the tire positions in the Smartire??

I didn't realize that was possible, I'll be more careful when I do mine.

Call the folks at Bob Dickman Tire Center - Les Schwab Dealer located in Junction City, Oregon they will give you the up-n-up. Always have for me...

BTW - Bendix is the new owner of Smartire (Dec2008) and has recently decided to discontinue the RV Smartire TPMS line... Lucky us, we RV Smartire folks are orphans...

Bendix was no help. Thanks for the contact with Les Schwab. Yes I was rotating tire positions and pushed the button at the wrong time!

Dickman Tire was a huge Smartire supplier. They'll tell you on the phone what you need to do.

I hope it does NOT require the special programming module that only dealers have. The programming of Smartire is one of it's major disadvantages as it requires a dealer with the special module.

Once those batteries die in the tire sender, we'll need to find some other TPMS system - thanks to Bendix shutting the RV side down...

Bendix told me I would need a programming module update. We'll see. Thanks again.

Thanks for posting.

I've had a dead battery in one sender for a couple years - Smarttire reminds me every day with that blinking red light I have come to ignore. Never got to a dealer. Now I'll try to deliberately drop that sender via the tire rotation boo-boo you did. I never thought of trying that. In this case, One man's boo-boo is another's gain!

My smart tire is interfaced through trip tek is yours? On the trip tek there is a clipboard that holds all the unaccounted for sensors that are in its range. All you do is take the sensor and assign it to a tire location. Since they quit supporting the RV line I wonder what the difference between the RV and BUS tire modules are?

That's a negative, never got around to installing that TripTek module on my TripTek...

My thoughts precisely... Anyone? anyone? Ferris???

Actually for all the "hassle" of dealing with the internal modules (like Smartire) my leaning is to go with the valve stem mounted senders of another system as my Smartire batteries die out... I lose the temperature monitoring but that has not really paid off for me in practice.. The theory for having it is still sound (brake dragging type issues especially on the toad), but hasn't happened in practice - yet....
