On my '06 Allure the tail likght assemblies are for RAM trucks and I can find those easily enough but I am having a hard time finding the socket (with a pigtail) that plugs into the assembly. I have one that is heavily corroded and need to replace it.

if anyone has a part number or source that would be great as the local Dodge dealers only want to sell a complete wiring harness

Most of the good auto parts places (NAPA, Carquest, et.al.) have one and two filament sockets that can be used as a replacement and are $4-$6 each. These are universal replacements so you might have to do a bit of improvising, but otherwise fairly easy . Of course without knowing how handy you are or what you have for tools, simple for me might become an impossible task for others

Apreciate the suggestion but it is a taillight assembly with 3 lights and the socket is unique to Dodge RAM trucks -- local NAPA store couldn't find anythign in their catalogs.

Take a look in this Dorman catalog : Publication Name:

Their home page: Dorman Products

It was worth a look - and that's probably about the best non-OEM source outside of the mfr. I've used Dorman quite often, but.....

Can you convert to LEDs and just screw in a different socket. I just got a small order from here to make up a 3rd brake light for the AVATAR car: Super Bright LEDs ? LED Lights, Bulbs, and Accessories . I'll eventually do my 5er's lights completely over inside and out with fixtures and bulbs from there when I finally can get to it after the snow melts.
Good luck

Local wrecking yard?

Start making some calls to local wrecking yards.

If you have a pic a part or other self serve yards then the parts will be cheap.

The better yards can advise which vehicles have the same conector so you may be able to "marry' from a different model to find the parts to harvest.

Once you find a replacement get some electrical grease from the hardware store and grease up the sockets and any other connection, this will reduce the chances of future damage.
