Sound System

Have a 2000 Magna Country Coach with Panasonic sound system/ TVs/ VHS recorder. Replacing TVs and VHS to flat screen and DVD player. Am assuming that the dash radio controls AV system but do not understand how. Every time I go to menu and select AV hit enter it goes to FM radio. Have selected AV in upper cabinet but am getting nothing. Anyone have this and hints on system. Remote for radio is dead, batteries leaked trying to clean it up.

On my Coach all the AV stuff was so interconnected that I could not get it to work and on those rare occasions when I did, I would forget the next time and would have to start over. My solution was to start from scratch and make the entire system user friendly. So I traced every wire, coax and all the other connections that were stuffed in behind the AV components. In the end I removed about 20 feet of coax cable, half a dozen useless components and now I have a dash radio that runs from the dash and an AV system that runs from the AV cabinet. It's simple and it works great and I can operate it first time every time.

Didn't want to go there unless all else fails. My rear camera is tied into the radio screen. Am going to try to use the headphone jack on TV and see if that will allow volume control. New TV dosen't have the RCA audio out plugs on it. Have got everything working but the volume so hopefully will not have to gut it and start over.

Is yours like this?

It's much easier to master using the remote control. You can download the manual and with the remote in one hand and the manual in the other, getting a handle on the beast becomes possible. It's not intuitive but once you get the hang of it, operation is not too difficult. I admit it's still a PITA.

Good luck,

Success. bought adapter for the headphones jack to RCA plugs and hooked up. Sounds great. Don't have to do anything to wiring or receiver.
