Speedometer issues

We have been racking up the miles and loving every minute. Yesterday we began experiencing issues with our speedometer (so cant tell you how many miles we put in). The speedometer needle on our 2004 Country Coach Inspire began sticking. It usually gets stuck around/between 45 and 55 and then when we slow down it jumps its way down to zero. We can go for hundreds of miles stuck (not going up or down) then when we stop, it goes down. Last night after we stopped for the evening it worked well (in the morning) for about 100 miles, then began sticking again. The cruise control works fine (not affected by the needle).

We are using our GPS for speed, but this is not the best way to drive

Anyone have a similar problem and resolution?

The speedo is electronic , and has an internal " stepper motor " to move the needle according to info the controller sends it . Sounds like your speedo has developed a temperature sensitive binding and the speedo may require replacement . Speedo may have a manufacturers name and part number on it , so if you could find that you might be able to track one down on line.
If your cruise works then the speed sensors are working and supplying good info.

You might give Kevin Waite a call, he can get most Country Coach parts.
