Steers Shocks Torque Spec?

Have an appointment at Cummins in ABQ, NM to have our Koni EVO-99's installed. 04 Allure, Neway IFS.

Does anyone know the Torque values for the bolts? I had an uncomfortable feeling when talking with the Service Writer today, and want to 'Help ensure the tech knows the proper Torque Settings when putting on the shocks...

(Some reason I remember 150 lbs, but can't recall if that was for our old F53...)

TIA, and best to all,
Smitty

Smitty on mine the front are 30-40 ft lb. the rear is 90-110 ft lb. the rear should have the 3/4" mtg. bolts.

I'm waiting on your experiment of the shocks as I need to change my originals.

Thanks in advance.

i r/r'ed my front with koni's without using torque wrench. it suppose to have a little movement so you really can't tighten it too much.

I have only seen them done with an impact gun on big rigs. I would bet most shops don't hand torque them.
To be honest I was thinking 200 to 250 ft lbs. But, I am known to go overboard on things.
My 2000 Tundra calls for 100 ft lbs on the front.
Sorry, wish I could be of more help.

On my Reyco Granning they called for 150 on the tops and bottoms but that's going from memory which isn't as good as it used to be!

The tech here at Cummins looked it up reference manuals, and came and talked to me before setting the torque. (I had said 150, and was upfront with him that I was not positive if that was for my current coach, or older F53 based unit.) He said 240lbs was what was referenced... Confirmed it was Neway, and he said no difference between 03 (Year our coach was built.) and 04 (Model year of our coach, though it seems to have a blend of 03 and 04 Allure characteristics!).

So, setting them to 240lbs. Next we play with he Jake settings, and this tech is getting help on that from another tech... So we'll see how that shakes out...

We drive from ABQ, NM to Santa Fe, on I25 North when we leave. So not much a real test on the new shocks - about 60 miles to our RV Park. Then 3 more weeks before we head out of NM to UT - so it's going to be awhile before I update my earlier thread on shifting to EVO-99's.

Best to you all,
Smitty

I had the pleasure to put a face to the poster's name this AM. George stopped by to introduce himself, and is as nice in person - as he is on the board.

It's so neat to meet a fellow CC owners, especially when they're some of the core group that so freely share their knowledge. George is such an owner. Probably 5 to 7 key posters here, and on CC Yahoo User Group, were instrumental as was I researched coaches.

George was one of those core owners whose posts I learned to read carefully!

Now, if he was just not so long winded. You know, not quite as 'crisp' as I am with my posts!

Best to you George, and to all,
Smitty
