"Why does Winnebago, that makes junk, want to own a company such as Country Coach?
I just wanna Know!!!"
They got a deal. They bought a complete facility set up to build coaches plus an "at hand" labor force. Winnie's Iowa facility had run out of labor in the surrounding area so they moved the diesel production to JC.

Just went today and looked at a 2019 Entegra Anthem 44B.
Not a switch on a wall anywhere but plenty of touch screens everywhere.
May the good lord help you if any of the electronics goes bad. I wouldn't work on them either.
Nice coach though!!!

I looked at a new Cornerstone a couple weeks ago. Frankly I wasn't impressed once I looked past the surface and at the materials used. No where close to the quality in my CC although the Cornerstone was cheaper than my Magna by $100,000.

When CC went belly up they tore out or sold all the jigs for the frames and molds. The only thing left in the building were 3 full coach size complete functional paint booths and the utility supply systems that can handle the manufacturing of motor homes. So when Winnie bought CC they bought the buildings, which they reconfigured to their manufacturing needs, and that included the paint booths. All the past electronic info that they had on past coaches manufacturing has disappeared. Oh ya, it also came complete with a well trained and skilled labor force that needs good paying jobs. Country Coach is just a bright spot in the long history of motor homes.

Wonder if Ron Lee is using the 2016 Allure he had built right before the sale to WGO? Anyone seen it on the road?

At one time I was under the impression that Ron Lee has a RV Park in the state of Washington.

<<<<< Wrong answer:
Correct answer
As of a year ago or so, the last time we walked in the back lot of the old Country Coach Offices and buildings, there were many fiberglass molds of the front and rear caps. I recognized our own front and rear cap molds and some that appeared to be the 2008 and up molds. We saw this with our own eyes.
Not sure about frame jigs so I won't pass along internet lore or hearsay.
There won't be another true Country Coach unless someone built a chassis to the same specs as the DMax (exactly the same) and used quality parts throughout the build. I am not sure who would pay 1.2-1.5 mill for such a rig but I would love to see it done.

We saw those molds on our first visit to CC in 2014 (before WGO). On our second visit in 2016, most of them had been moved but they were still on the property. Actually I was surprised that WGO hadn't gotten rid of them.
I had a nice conversation with Eric in the chassis shop. While he was obviously careful with his opinions about whether WGO would ever build anything resembling a CC, he did say the Dynomax chassis jigs were long gone. IIRC, he said the chassis used to build Ron Lee's 2016 Allure was a leftover Dynomax chassis that was heavily modified to accommodate the ISX. He did offer that if WGO ever built a 'CC', they would likely do what Foretravel is now doing and have Spartan tweak their K3 chassis for them.
I will say that several months after the WGO purchase, I was contacted by someone in a management position at WGO (someone with whom I had met and developed a relationship with when I was a Winnebago Owners' forum mod for IRV2). He said one of the WGO VP's was planning to put together a focus group to get some ideas on what CC owners would value, want, etc. in a coach. He asked if I would be willing to participate. Of course I said yes.
There was never any follow up to that call.

Still Waiting For New Country Coach
Thanks, for your timely input. I remember my Uncle God Rest his Soul. Who just resent died about a month ago, informed me that the DynaMax Construction is one of the best built bodies for a coach. He was a Foretravel Man, after owning four of them, and the last one is still available for sale in California. He told me to purchased a CC, because of the work that were done in building them. That's why I have this brand instead of the Others. He used to tell me over the phone, if it's not a Provost, Newell, Foretravel, or a Country Coach. You're going pay in the end, because the rest are junk!
I am proud to be a CC Man, and I'm looking forward to meeting each and everyone one of you all out there on the road...

" informed me that the DynaMax Construction is one of the best built bodies for a coach."
Dynamax is something else. The correct name for the Country Coach chassis is:
DynoMax

They wanted the established facility for building their own class A RVs.

Country Coach Maintenance
I have been going to Lazy Days in Seffner (Tampa) Florida since 2009. I go to one tech only. He has done good reliable work. I could get parts from Junction City at Country Coach (Winnebago). Have not tried recently. It is hard to work through internet site since Winnebago took over. I get the feeling that they do not care about Country Coach customers. If any one needs tech name then e-mail me.
