Strange thermostat/mid ship heat pump behavior

My mid ship Coleman AC/heat pump often short cycles. I've recently replaced the hard start capacitor and the compressor does come on and run. This is the description of what occurs:

T stat is set for 72F and displays 73F. So, no call for heat. However, the temp display on the See Level panel (that signal comes from the zone 2 temp sensor mounted on the wall near the See Level panel) displays say 71F, so the zone 2 AC/heat pump comes on, compressor runs for perhaps 30 seconds, then until shuts down.

Based on this behavior, I think there is some conflict between the wall mounted Zone 2 sensor (which I suspect triggers the call for heat) and the Coleman T stat.

I have no such issues with either zone 1 or zone 3....no short cycling.

Anyone else have this problem? Can the Coleman T stat be reset?
