Stuttering Diesel when under Load

My 2007 Country Coach "Stutters" (That's the only way I know how to describe it) when it is pulling our 2008 Jeep Liberty Toad and when the generator is running....

I will be running along with no problem between 65-70 MPH on cruise. When I hit an incline in the highway or get stuck between two 18 wheelers and have to turn off the cruise, the coach stutters as it tries to down shift automatically or when I tried to regain my speed after slowing down.....It stutters almost enough to shake your teeth!

At the same time and on the same trip, I crossed Mount Eagle between Chattanooga and Nashville, Tennessee with the coach on cruise control at 65 MPH and it never hesitated or lost power all the way up the mountain....

Any ideas about what could be causing this phenomenon would be greatly appreciated.....

Change your fuel filters.

Pulling your Toad or running your generator has nothing to do with it. The Toad is just some extra weight and your generator runs off of the same diesel fuel tank as your engine.

Your diesel engine is most likely starving for fuel when under load, like climbing a grade. It may run find otherwise. Is it possible that you got some bad fuel? I did one trip on my way back from Alaska and I did not figure it out until 1800 miles later. Some nice gentleman suggested that I change the fuel filters and it solved my engine stutter problem.

When did you change out the filters?

Definitely sounds like fuel filters, but if that doesn't solve it, consider your speed sensors.
