Surge Guard

My Allure has a factory-installed Surge Guard. I installed the same unit in my previous DP.

I am curious if any of my fellow CC owners have swapped out the Surge Guard for the Progressive Industries surge protector. If so, why?

From my research it appears the Progressive Industries unit is the gold standard for RV's. It does have a few features not included on the Surge Guard and a lifetime warranty.

If mine ever fails, I'll replace it with a PI simply because of the warranty. This coach has an installed Surge Guard like yours, but I still have my portable PI from my previous coach.

I probably have the same TRC 34560 Surge/EMS system in my coach as you have in yours. I have not changed out the OEM unit; it provides all the same functionality (as you mentioned). I miss the remote panel and line current indication on my previous unit with the Progressive Industries EMS HW50C.

Until the TRC fails, I cannot warrant the cost to replace with the PI.

My thoughts,
