Tecma toilet, seeing the green light again

Even though I carefully flush the black water tank when I dump it, I haven't seen the green light on my toilet control panel in over a year. I've used various schemes recommended on these forums to no avail. With the See Level monitor, I don't worry about it.

So, I finally got some of the Happy Camper powder several folks recommended. A couple of scoops of that, maybe 3 ounces of Dawn dish detergent, and a 260 mile drive with maybe 5 - 6 gallons of water added to the tank and I'm seeing green again .

Good tip, as I'm not so sure we see green that often or long either, but I'm color blind . DW says it does go green after my "expert" flushing, tank product loading, etc. But as you noted it used to stay green well until 50%+- on the See Level. Have felt like the Tecma uses it's own external sensors?
Guess that many "Happy Camper"s can't be wrong, huh?

Be well.

Well in theory the LED indicates green from empty to 50% to which it changes to amber from ~51% to approx. ~98% at which point it goes to red. This indicates the holding tank is full and requires intervention.
But like all tank level sensors even external ones, residue on the inner tank walls can render inaccurate signal reflection to the controls.
As smlranger notes, travel and agitation can help. My observation is the sensors seem to get more finicky after sitting longer periods as we snowbirds might do. Plus the extremely hard water in the SW probably is a contributing factor too?

Keep it sloshing.

Yes, I know the operation...I just don't look at it.

Calgon water softener powder works good too, with a 1/2 cup of Dawn liquid dishwash detergent. Breaks down the hard water sludge scale on the sides of tanks (and over the insertion type level indicators).
