Thinking of selling my CC Magna

Hi everyone

Having trouble keeping up in this world. Awning won’t retract. Stuck waiting on mobile guy. This is a business trip for me so no luxury of just waiting until tomorrow

Anyway, love the sport and this machine but seems like everyday it’s minimum something to do a PM on or get ahead of or update.

I am not good as a handyman and dream of the day I can retire. Maybe once retired I can Consider if I can get a newer coach that won’t be so demanding.

Needless to say I’m realistic but not desperate. I’ll keep improving her until someone buys it or I get it the way I want it. The one thing I won’t do is own something and allow it to deteriorate.

Thanks

Tom

Tmyz, I got to a similar place with the Allure we owned for 5 years. There were several reasons for letting it go but the increasing frequency and complexity of repairs was a factor. Our coach was 12 years old when we traded it.

We now have a 5th wheel trailer that basically sits in one spot. I still have to fix things at times but it is not as pressing as with a motorhome when something needs fixing now so you can travel to your next destination.

We loved the quality of our CC and enjoyed the travel but I don't miss the frequent and necessary repairs.

Thanks Sml. Just don’t know what to do. I have to tell u that I make a good living but it seems I’m working for the coach. If I had the money I’d bring it to Eric in Tucson and just have him go through it completely and update the old interfaces, flooring, wall coverings , blinds etc.

Can’t imagine that bill would be less than 50 k which would put me over 200 plus for a 15 year old 120,000 mile coach.

Hmmmmm. Now that I type it doesn’t sound too bad I guess. We all know this is a 700k replacement item.
Still trying to figure it out.

Tom

I hear you guys! I bought an 08 Affinity and while in great shape needed some serious TLC.
The coach and I had a battle going for the first year of ownership and well over hundreds of hours I conquered all the issues and the coach has been solid for the past two years.
They can eat out of house and home for sure.
I’m glad I’m very mechanically inclined and can do just most repairs, otherwise I would be broke.
It’s a tough decision, one you need to do what’s right for you.
Good luck!!

Sorry to hear that Tom. I bought my coach 3 years ago it is 17 years old besides maintenance of the chassis which has been mostly trouble free the interior fixtures like air conditioner ,furnace, stove, shower, refrigerator etc all had problems . I just fix that stuff as I get to it but my coach is in a garage under my house if you are always on the road it would be too big of a job.

Thanks all. I do love this thing. I just had it aligned. Guys said all looked good under the coach. Caterpillar said the same. She is all caught up on all maintenance and chassis items. I’m going to take a wait and see on this. I know one thing for sure, as I get older and income drifts a bit lower and I slow down, there probably won’t be a time I can qualify for a 300 k newer coach. This may be my last opportunity to own a high end coach. Factoring that in as well.
