Trying to find brake light switch
Hi, we live full time in a 37 ft. 2007 CC Allure 470 traveling the country. My problem is lately the brake lights do not go off when we are not stepping on the brakes. Can someone please tell me where the brake light switch is under the dash so I can replace it. Thank you for your help.

We have same rig in longer version and I just took a quick look at the brake pedal area. It seems the switch is somewhere near the top of the brake pedal arm. Not a lot of room under there for this old fat guy .

Mine is up front to the right of the genset above the 3 drain valves for the tanks. There are 4 switches there, the big one should be the brakes switch. There is an air line running to the back of the switch. I can get to mine standing on the ground up front.
I have almost the same problem but NO brake light. My center brake light works, turn signals work, lights work, flasher work, just no brakes lights. All fuses are good.

OK, Thanks for the replies. Looks like I have to move the generator and look up under the dash for it. Will let you know how it goes. Thanks

Well, I moved the generator out and looked up into the back side of the dash. All i saw was a large valve assembly with 9 blue and red hoses coming out of it. So I pulled out the schematics (drawings) that show the brake light switch, and they show it located in the steering compartment. I believe that is outside compartment under the drivers seat. Now I have to figure out which component is the brake light switch. If any one knows, please help educate me.
Thanks

On my Magna it is in the left forward equipment bay. It has two wires and is connected to an air manifold.

Can't help with location but look for 2 switchs, wired in parallel, near each other. The 121 dual brake system will have 2.
If the lights are staying on, I would suspect a sticking trestle valve plunger or possabily a third switch, located on the park brake control valve.
If the brake pedal is sticking, even slightly, there will be pressure at the switchs.

The gizmo at the top is labeled Bendix and has an air fitting on the backside so suspect this is it.

Gary is close, however my brake light switch is the lower (black looking round) gizmo. It takes power from the chassis fuse box location 3 (CH03 label on the wire) and sends it signal (orange wire label 52) to the brake signal relay and to brake light relay (in parallel). I have attached a picture of my chassis electrical schematic as well.
My brake light switch is Bendix part T-290455-C. Also called a Bendix SL-5 stop light switch.
The upper silver gizmos (I have 3) are low pressure signal switches.

Thanks for all your answers. Brian, I was poking around in both the generator and electrical compartment up front and came to the same conclusion. I didn't know what the three small silver values were. I pulled the same schematic from my files. Tomorrow I will be trying to find the part.
Thank you all.

They are shown on the chassis pneumatic schematic.
