Update:

Well we decided to get a sound bar. Found a Vizio on sale at Costco that fit the space nicely. I will still need to do a bit of staining/finishing of some of the wood to really make it look nice when we got back home. But at least the space is mostly filled and the little sound bar does sound a lot better than the basic TV speakers.

Gary, It does look great... it does not appear that you needed to alter the side mouldings much or at all. I have a surround system in my 2007 Allure, did your's come with one also? Could you or can you hook up the new TV to that system (If U have that Bose system). I'm sure you will get it looking like original equipment, after seeing your repair to the bedroom slide moulding. Again looks great.

Dave, the new TV fills the space so well that I really only need to stain a very small bit of wood just inside the bottom of the opening (maybe sand some rough edges a bit). A little bit of Velcro is holding the sound bar just fine.

Yes, the coach does have a Yamaha receiver with surround sound but it has never worked properly. It will turn on but if you adjust the volume to any level other than very low, it shuts down. Sometimes it displays a 'SP' before shut down which, according to the manual, indicates a problem with the speakers. I found one speaker wire had come loose from one of the plugs and fixed that but it still does not work. Perhaps there is a short in a wire somewhere or maybe one of the speakers is bad. We don't miss using it. The surround sound system in the bedroom works great.
