Under the Bed Storage???

Seems like there is lots of usable storage space under the bed, above the engine in our pusher. However there is a sticker/sign that indicates that that area is not to be used for storage.

What gives? Heat? Structural? Or???????

Thanks!

Craig

We also noticed the space under the bed but I figured CC is warning that since the slide mechanism is there, items stored there might get tangled in the hardware. I can see putting some really small things there.

We have two, maybe three small plastic storage containers. We put the male part of velcro on the bottom to give some bite to the carpet. We added velcro to the sides of container, and side frame of the bed. So the combo of velcro resistance on the carpet, and velcro attachment to the sides, has kept these from shifting while driving.

The items we put in here are light weight. (Rolled up rain gear for really getting out in the elements. Some long winter underwear. Etc. Mostly all clothing that we use sometimes one once every year, or less.)

Now, I keep trying to explain to my DW, that if we could just get rid of the second hundred pair of shoes she carries in the closet, that I could get another full case of vino storage... And, it was a close decision on her part - Shoes vs Vino? Well so far, the shoes are winning out!

Best to all,
Smitty

Just a engine and a safe.

Thanks, but....

Does anyone know what that CC not for storage warning is based on?

Heat?

Structural Support? aka will it cave in?

Or?

I can figure out how to arrange/store things so that they will not interfere with the slide apparatus okay.

My RV is a gas pusher but I think the setup is no different than a DP. I discovered that Winne had screwed the access closed. I opened it up to see if I could use the space for storage and it is obvious the bed slide setup would crush anything I tried to place in there. No warning sticker on mine.

On mine there is very little storage under the bed due to the slide mechanism and the OTR air con under there. I did store a few bottles of wine wrapped in towels with no troubles.
