Webasto issues on Magna

Started Webasto and it was smoking. Changed the fuel nozzle. With taking the head off noticed the electrodes had moved so I had to gap them without a gap tool. Tried again and would not start. Talked to Webasto and we made sure power was 13 volts to the unit Also checked the ohms at the black box on top.
Used a jumper at the power plug and ground and the motor started without switch.

Took the panel off in bedroom. Tested the switch with Multi meter and it is good. The power wire is labeled 420. Tried to find fuse in front bay. Nothing there.

Is there a fuse somewhere else?

After that not sure it will ignite but got to have power first.

Thanks

You have to get the troubleshooting guide. In my case the issue was the control box itself. But I needed the pin outs of the plugs in order to be able to troubleshoot. On our 2000 Magna and probably yours too the control box pretty much does everything.

In your case the fact that you had the unit opened up to install the nozzle would lead me to believe that something is disconnected or shorted. I had a broken ground wire once and it was hidden so very hard to find. I was able to bypass the control box to make it work and that led to the discovery that the control box itself was the problem. Give me a call if you want. 612-801-4826

Where are you located there are a number of techs around the country that can get you up and going. If close they will come to you and service unit.

Have an appointment with a shop in the morning.

I replaced a fuse in the electric bay an it started. However still smoking pretty bad.

Thanks

After spending most of the day in the shop, I need to replace the fuel lines from diesel tank. The unit is drawing air and you can see all of the bubbles around the filter. If it runs long enough it will get the air out of the lines and quit smoking. But start up is a bear. Also talked to Kevin and his assessment is a 19 year old coach needs new fuel lines to the Webasto. Has anyone done anything other than tear the bay ceilings apart and replace the lines there. There also might be a question about the part in the tank and whether it may have damage.
