Weird entry step behavior

Left for badly needed trip today and noticed my 'entry step extended' display on dash was lit even with motor running. Opened and closed door and step retracted but in about a minute it deployed even though I was moving along at about 15 mph. Stopped, opened and closed door, worked entry steps toggle switch and steps retracted. Under way again and steps deployed but finally retracted when speed got up to about 20 mph. This behavior continued whenever we stopped for fuel and to get lunch. As soon as I got coach up to about 20 mph, steps came in and remained retracted.

Any ideas before I call Kevin tomorrow??

Good news is that my check engine, low fuel pressure behavior did not occur in our 3 1/2 hour trip. I had treated fuel with BioBor and changed primary fuel filter. Coach ran like a scalded dog.

Im not sure how your rig is setup but my step switch is in the door and I had erratic inconsistent deployment and it turned out to be a break in the wire from the door through the jamb. Kevin provided a new wire color coded and once swapped out everything worked fine.

these power steps do seem to have a mind of their own at times. sounds like a ground or loose/broken wire

I do have a plunger switch in the door and figured that was the switch for the steps. I also have a wire bundle coming out of the door and going into the jamb.

I will contact Kevin since I am thinking this switch is unique to CC.

I had several broken wires and will be replacing the harness as soon as I get it from Kevin. How difficult was it to do? Obviously the door panel has to be removed but where do the wire that pass from the door into the jamb terminate?
