Your best bet is to get the correct shear bolts. Kevin Waite has them and will ship a set to you quickly. I have same coach and have a set I got from Kevin but so far they have stayed in my spare parts bin.

Thanks but I thought someone could give me the spec and buy them at a hardware store. What does he charge for them?

If there power gear it takes a special bolt. I tried hardware bolts and they failed until I got some from power gear. I bought extra and never needed them.

It needs to be a bolt with proper shear strength. You can get higher strength bolt, but then you have to be concerned about what else will break if the slide binds. If a bolt breaks, you need to find out why before you consider bolt options. I'm sure several folks have the correct bolts, including Country Coach.

I got 4 shear bolts from Kevin Waite just in case I need one or I run across someone in need of one on the road. I checked the 4 bolts that hold the drive motor in place and could turn all of them by hand, removed each one and cleaned applied blue loctite. Cost of the bolts I think, $5 each.

Installed the new bolts they are not what I thought they would glad I bought them. Kevin is a good guy thanks for the help I have two extras also. The ones I replace were just bolts that wore out.

We learned that the shear bolt is not all you want. When replaced, ours broke again weeks later. Country Coach replaced both the bolt and the rod and it worked ever since. The rod develops play and will cause premature breakage of a brand new shear pin/bolt. We have an Inspire so may be different.

Sounds logical. If the bolt has wallowed in the hole and opened it up, that would certainly stress the bolts.

Another thing to note. I'm not sure about allure but on my inspire there was no limit switch so it was up to the operator to back off the switch once the slide reached the end of travel. We would only extend or retract to a point the sound just started to change and there was no movement. Just a thought.

I don't believe there is a limit switch on my Allure. The tech who did our PDI and delivery instructed me to open a window when moving the front slides and to get off the switch for the Power Gear slide as soon as it is opened or closed. I always open the toll window and listen carefully for the motor to change sound. So far, so good .
