What is PTO

I read this on a forum: Confirm that the PTO (Power take off) is WET (3 lines running into it) not Dry. CAN anyone please talk about/explain what PTO is, and how a potential buyer would check this,,, or would this need to be chkd by a service tech? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Try going to //groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Country-Coach-Owners/files
and search the list of files for PTO-101a.pdf.

I think this is what you are asking about, Country Coach used this PTO to mount the hydraulic pump, which powers the cooling fans and power steering. Some more reading for you:

Thanks again to all that gave info links to read up on PTO..just read them and what an eye opener that was! The link to JDRV with the PTO 101 lesson with pics is esp helpful !
