I have used McGuires No.6 cleaner/wax for years. Easy to put on and easy to take off. Excellent protection. dcoke

I stand by my posted recommendations. Please note I said after three years, that catchup was in order. Many wax companies recommend using Dawn to strip off old wax and road grime. Of course you do not use it with every car washing. And as noted by other posters, orbital polishers are safe.

The cautions on Dawn were accurate, but were out of context for the OP's neglected paint.

Of course we all have opinions, and that is mine. Not a pro, but I do take care of my toys...

Best to all,
Smitty
