Question What would you tell a future country coach owner?

Hello fellow RV friends!

I have heard a lot of good stories about country coaches and how they are a solid coach.

But why?

When they say, "simplicity" what exactly does that mean in the RV realm vs not as simple?

Looking at 2001-2004-5ish. 40ft.

As the title asks. What would you tell a future country coach owner?

Thanks!

My observations
attention to detail
cabinet quality
hardware selection
component selection
all wiring numbered
I could likely list more.
They used the same build mentality with all lines and they sometimes remind me of aircraft construction.
I see 20 year old rigs that look brand new.
Sure there are some problems but they were discovered over time and couldn't be anticipated. Some of these new coaches are built to sell so they try to look good and expensive but then cheap out on everything you cant see.

I'll add the great foundation of the DynoMax chassis - it's a cut above many of the others of that, or current, era... Just remember, the higher up the food chain you go in any manufacturers lineup - usually the higher the complexity, and thus non "KISS". With complexity, comes higher opportunities for maintenance, but also the benefit of more goodies! (Not a a bad, or good, statement intended with this - just an observation!).

Happy hunting,
Smitty

I have had my coach for just over 3 months and during this time I am up to about 45 individual items that I have repaired, refurbished replaced or upgraded. Every door and panel has been opened and sometimes I am impressed to find high quality and sometimes it gets a little cheap.

I have also seen what time has done to the coach, the faded paint, frame paint chipping off in favor of rust, worn rubber parts and seals and a host of items that have lived out the service life.

We also looked at other brands and found the same features for that era across them. It's kind of an erector set, you got the same parts but can assemble it differently.

One thing I noticed was, when you adjust for inflation and compare to what is available today County Coach was on the high side of the chart.

You will never get to see the little things in the buying process so buy what looks good with the features you want. Be prepared to spend some money fixing it up to your standards.

I compared my '09 Magna to a new Cornerstone and found they cut corners in the Cornerstone compared to my CC. However the new Cornerstone sticker was around $100,000 less than my '09 sticker.

Be wary of someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. As all the CC owners go merrily down the road.

Country Coach Motorhomes were built at a time when quality actually was attainable in fibreglass Motorhomes. The product Jan processes in building Country Coaches matured throughout the companies life to the point where they earn a reputation for being the best. Today if you look at most other coaches of the era the difference is very apparent.
