I believe I'm getting to a solution based on Papa Jim's second post above with a link to another thread with a 2000 Monaco with the same problem. They had the Xantrex RV2012 inverter they were replacing and internally, found a connection between the black (-) lug and green lug which provided the ground for the battery bank. The newer inverters apparently dropped this internal connection, thus, they only provide a red and black lug on the newer inverters. It stands to reason one must attach the 4/0 ground to the black lug with the negative cable on the inverter itself or else ground the batteries at the neg post of the battery bank. With all the sophisticated electronics inside these inverters, I would like to get confirmation from Magnum before attaching the grnd to the neg lug on the inverter itself but they're on skeleton crew this week and I don't know when they'll call back. I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

OK, I heard back from Magnum and they say they prefer users not use the negative post on inverter as a buss bar but either location will work-do whatever is easiest with the current wiring, either the neg post on inverter or neg post on the battery. I have errands to do today so will get to it tomorrow and let you know if successful. Thanks for the help.

Connected the ground from the neg batt post to the chassis grounding lug and am back to full power inside the coach. Thanks for all the help.

Now I need to activate the battery monitor to make sure that's working and either wait for a sunny day in the NW or go to AZ for the winter to test out the solar panels. :-)
