Whose Seats Are These?

Who made the driver/pass seats for my 2008 Allure; or, tell me where in the coach I can find out? There is no apparent branding.

The plastic doohickee built in to the back rest thru which passes the seat best is cracked on one end. It catches and grabs the seat belt, and is major problem. If I knew who to call, I would ask how that black plastic piece comes out so I can repair it.

Many manufacturers put a paper in the spring portion of the seat. It is not a tag. It is a sheet of paper with make, model, pattern and color on it. Get a flashlight and look carefully under the seat, in the springs.

I had the same problem with the ones on my two captains chairs. They both needed re-upholstering especially the one where my Golden Retriever loves to sit when we are parked. So I had the shop make a fixture that would not get brittle and break as the original plastic ones did after so many years of use.

He took two blank metal electrical cover plates found at any hardware store and cut an opening for the seat belt. Then he covered the plates with the same material as what he used on the seats. The end result was perfect and they will never have to be monkeyed with again.

Before and after photos.

Richard, who did your re-upholstering job? Looks great.

I was quoted a price that I could buy new seats for.

I happen to find a gentleman in Burbank CA directly across from where I was having my car repaired one day. Since I had time i walked over and got his name and number. It so happens that it is a family business and he is the third in line. His name is Paul and the shop is:

Sagona's Custom Upholstery
1706 W Magnolia Blvd
Burbank, CA 91506
(818) 843-1096

He charged about $1500 to do the two chairs which included the marine fabric I had picked out that came as close to the color that was on there previously. I had him make a HD slip cover for the Buddy Chair where our Golden Retriever still likes to sit and look out the picture window while we are parked. I don't plan on needing to re-upholster the chairs again.

Thanks for the info. I'll be in the area around Christmas time so hopefully he could work me in.

Tell Paul I said hello if you go! He will know who I am when you mention the Monaco coach with two captain's chairs and a custom slip cover he made for one chair for my red Golden Retriever dog, Cody.
