Window leak

Have a non electric drivers side window that leaks into the electrical compartment below. Had the window replaced due to fogging with the single pane window at RV Glass in Coburg and still have the leak. Have tried to find it with a camera and removing the interior panel and no luck. Tried some of the boat sealant in the joints and still have the leak. Tried following the rust tracks in the compartment and no luck. It's not as bad as it was but any is still too much.

Ideas?

Also have a leak into the last full bay from the top of the compartment. I did some sealing around the slide weatherstrip and seem to have gotten that but it might just be the way it sits at times.

After I posted I went out and opened the compartment and found white color in thw wet spot. The crack sealer I'm using is white but dries clear so it seems I'm trying to seal the right area. Need to go back and add some more.

My roof AC drain runs down the drivers side pillar, might want to check the line is not cracked and leaking into this compartment.
Just a thought.

I second Rampage42's idea. My air cond drain goes in the same area.

Over the last 2 years I have fought the same two leaks you described.

Driver’s window leak was a combination of things. In my Allure, not sure about the Magna design, the window has a drain slot below the slider toll window but does not catch all the water that drains downwards and accumulates in the valley at the bottom (inside of window). To over come this a hole was drilled through the frame at the lowest most forward part and into the first channel. Over the years I have seen some CCs with the hole and some without. This was done about 2 years ago and the window was leak free until recently when I noticed that water was starting to accumulate at the bottom of the inboard channel in the valley of the frame. The source appeared to be at the top of the frame from a joint right in the middle, I had the window resealed on the outside along with 2 or 3 shade snaps that were directly above the top of the window. So far, almost going on 3 weeks now, and we’ve had a ton of rain up here in BC, and no leak.

My bay leak has driven my crazy since I found it 14 months ago, I’ve had heaters down there to dry it out more times than I care to remember. My leak is directly below the D/S front slide (rear vertical corner) and it appeared up in the ceiling of the compartment, the carpet on the ceiling and side walls were wet. I could run my fingers between the ceiling of the bay and the inside chassis rail and sure enough I could feel water.

It was a combination of different things tried over the last 14 months and I’ve finally got it licked. Holes were drilled on the bottom of the inner and outer rails to help drain the water that somehow was getting into the rails, this didn't resolve the problem but likely helped. A section of the outer rail was open and exposed to rain running down the side wall and rain blowing in towards the D/S, this was plugged up with Sika. A section of aluminum belt line moulding was pulled back from the exterior wall (not the slide) and two screws that were likely broken at the factory were showing some signs of rust, this section was repaired and resealed. Under the slide out gully (sorry don’t know the term of the body area below the slide on the exterior) which is over top of the leak, CC used a ton of Sika in the area which was showing some signs of water possibly getting in so the area was cleaned up and a new whack of Sika was re-installed. It’s been almost 4 weeks not since the last repair in this area and touch wood again I’m dry.

I’m sure a lot of this is hard to follow and understand so if any of this might interest you I can try to find some old pictures and maybe take some new ones.

Good luck

I had the same issue with my driver side lower window frame collecting water. My window frame had the small hole drilled at the bottom of the frame to purge water building up in the lower end. Before OMC “fixed” my problem I noticed a loud road noise coming from that area that at times even made my in-dash stereo system hard to hear. When I called it to the attention of the tech at OMC he simply went out and placed a small piece of black electrical tape over the small hole and the problem was taken care of. The down side is that I have to remember to remove the electrical tape when I’m experiencing measurable rain before replacing it again. Good luck.

When Premier in Junction City drilled the frame out they also siliconed to the outside of the hole about a 1" piece of a window weep hole cover, so far it works well.

Had my window repaired due to fogging a few ago at Hudson in Fl.
Then the leak started. I tried several ideas before I put a garbage bag and taped the bottom half of my window. The 2 smaller windows. Then the leak stopped. Took my coach to RV Fog doctor and they found that the previous repair was incorrect. The bottom 2 windows are single pane and a little thinner than the top double pane.
The rubber stripping used in the double pane didn't seal the glass in the single pane glass. They used a thicker stripping and my problems where solved.

at that time 06 Inspire.
