Window Screens

I have a 1998 CC Intrigue. I need to replace the screen material but I cannot seem to find the rubber spline material that hold the screens in place. The current splines are much smaller than what is available anywhere I have gone to. The smallest size I found was .120 and that size was not even close to being the right size. I'm open to suggestions.

What size spline do you have? The smallest I can find without buying a 3000' roll is .090 here: CRL .090" Gray Screen Retainer Spline - 100 Foot Roll - CRL SERRATED SCREEN RETAINER SPLINE 100 FT ROLLS - Buy CRL .090" Gray Screen Retainer Spline - 100 Foot Roll Best Prices

I ended up buying a 2875 ft roll of the .100 black serrated spline, lets hope it fits. If it does I will gladly sell off most of it. It was only $38 for the roll plus shipping. It will be worth it to have around.

The roll of spline is due to be delivered on Monday. I'll post the results then. If it fits, I'll have more than I could use on a lifetime. I'll be more than happy to sell some if anyone need some.

Yes, that's not a typo - it's a 1/2 mile in length"

You pretty much nailed it. I'll keep a 1/4 mile for myself and sell the rest.

jeepersrus,
What size spline tool did you use? Will the conventional size tool fit down in the slot enough to make the spline work?

The normal size tool did work. I had to roll it a bit slower but it did work. My spline tool has two wheels on it, one ha a bit of a knife edge, the other has a fatter wheel that is indented so the spline will lay inside somewhat. I had to use the knife edge wheel but it did work. On the rounded corners I had to use a small screwdriver. I'm keeping a few hundred feet for myself and Kevin Wait is buying the rest from me. For those of you that do not know Kevin Wait, he is a former Country Coach Serv Tech that opened his own business when CC went bankrupt in 2010. He is a wealth of knowledge on CC.

What you really needed . . .

Was some very common (for RV's and Storm Door Screens) .090" black spline. There is some for sale on eBay in 25 foot lengths -- so no need to buy a half mile of the stuff.
