2003 38DS01 Satellite Wiring

Our coach was pre-wired for satellite TV however at the time we elected not to have one installed. I am now planning on installing a Winegard SK-3005 antenna. I 'assume' that the wiring for hookup to the antenna is coiled underneath the fiberglass roof. Does anyone know where one would drill the hole to reach the RG-6 cable? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don, yes the cabling should be under the roof and was at time of manufacturing marked as to where to drill into roof for access. Have you been on the roof lately? The tag may have very well deteriorated by now. Maybe someone will post as to where theirs was installed at the factory. If not it is not that difficult to install the dish and wiring as though it is not prewired. Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you for the reply. I believe that I recall seeing a sticker on the roof for the antenna when we purchased the coach however it is long gone. I am hoping that someone can provide me the location, possibly referenced from the location of the manual TV antenna.

I had a 1999 TS that was wired for satellite. The wire was hidden under the rubber roof, in a hole that was covered by the rubber roof material but marked by a phoney vent cover the same as those that are used for the plumbing vents. it was in the center of the roof (side to side) and about 8 feet back from the front end cap. In my 34 foot RV, this placed it somewhere in the bedroom / bathroom area.

If you look down the phoney vent you will see the rubber roof rather than a stack. I was told to cut into the roof there. I could feel that the rubber was not supported under that point. I never opened mine. The other end of the wire was in the entertainment area as I recall.

Don, do you have speakers mounted in your ceiling? I'd remove the front ones and look up into the "attic" area for the cabling. Once found, you should be able to find a place to mount the antenna.

The cables that ran to the satellite dome are under the right forward roof "attic" vent, on my 2007 Alante. Al

I must be getting old! After posting I decided to check my memory and went up on the roof. As it turns out the wires are actually under the center attic vent about 6 feet aft of the front AC unit. Sorry for the error. Al

Can't figure out why this sewer smell keeps coming in the coach.

I went to check your black tank vent but all I found was a big hole in your roof. Perhaps this is related to the venting problem.
