2015 Seneca CB antenna mounting
Where is a good place to mount a cb antenna on a 2015 Seneca? What kind of antenna did you mount? While I'm at it, where did you hook the hot wire for the cb? Thanks!

CB Antenna
I have a 2014 Seneca. Checked with a truck stop CB shop and they suggested single antenna on Drivers side. Attached to mirror bracket with standard type antenna mount. I haven't figured out best way to run coax and whether to mount overhead or under dash. I an interested how others have done it.

There is a discussion on the JaycoOwners forum about whether or not the mirror-mounted antenna that comes on the 2015 Seneca can be used for a CB in addition to the radio. It is rumored that there is a coax pigtail behind the dash somewhere.
A guy who works at a Freightliner plant has offered to check into it. If he reports back, I'll pass it along.

I am curious to know if anyone has installed the CB as well.
And how they did it.

Rekindling an old thread here. There is a CB antenna lead behind the A/C controls on the Seneca dash. I removed that panel and found it in the lower left corner. The connector is a mini-UHF plug, though, which will require an adapter (mini-UHF male to PL259 female) to connect to most CB's.
Now I just need to find a source of power in that general vicinity...

If your fuse panel is close by, you can buy a fuse adapter that adds an extra 12v line
they also sell these at your local autoparts store

Thanks for the tip! I found the wire bundle you're talking about, I think. They're all capped off at the end and just stuffed up behind the cupholder.
Do you know which of the non-blue wires is which? There was a solid red, red/white stripe and one other that I can't recall offhand.
I can put a meter to them to find the 12v, but didn't want to remove the caps unnecessarily if you know which is which.
Thanks again!

2014 Seneca
I just did all of this is my 2014 and posted pictures on the Jayco Owners forums. Made a faceplate to mount the CB in the overhead bin, powered from the battery, am using the factory antenna splitter as described. Works well...for a CB.

I installed a new CB antenna on the right side mirror. I could not set the swr. I called a CB shop, they told me I needed a no ground plane antenna for a rv. The same kind used on boats, and motorcycles. I wonder if the antenna supplied with the Seneca is a no ground antenna. Has anyone had a problem setting the swr on the radio/CB antenna?
