Hello. We are torn between these two motorhomes! The couch in the 2018 31R is deterring us from the 31R. We like the layout of the 2018 31V too. I learned motorhome couches can be removed and replaced with something else but have read mixed reviews about doing it.

Any pros or cons for either model would be greatly welcomed!

Anyone have any experience with taking the couch out of the 31R?

We are going to the dealership to make our decision today after looking for months and narrowing it down to these two for our family of 3 (plus 2 large doggies!).

Late to the party, sorry about that. I would say it depends on if you want/need the bunks or not? My wife and I got the Entegra Vision 31v which is the same as the Jayco Allante 31v. For us it came down to a few things in order of importance:

- TV across from the living room seating
- No slides on the passenger side
- Theatre seating
- 12 cu ft fridge

I can say we love our 31v... I like the 30amp coach with dual ACs... I was worried about this but it works very nicely. Biggest issue we had so far was the chassis battery draining, but we fixed that with an amp-l-start.

Things to consider between the two.

- bunk beds (31r)
- separate toilet/shower (31v)
- huge awning (31v)
- countertop space (31v)
- theatre seating (31v)
- heavier chassis 20.5K (31r)
- longer 34.5’ (31r) vs 32.1’ (31v)

In the end, choose the floor plan you like, changing that is not feasible. Beyond that look for the one that has the options you want.

We got the 31R because of the bunk beds. That was number one on our list. I also wanted the opposing dinette/Couch, with the kitchen contained in its own area.
